Q: What do photographers like to do when the shops close?
A: They head down to Central London… for a night photoshoot 🙂
And that’s exactly what we did with Mimi and Richard!
The location was none other than the West End’s glamorous Bond Street, home to all the super high-end fashionable brands in London and one of the most expensive strips of real estate in the world! So it was very fitting that Mimi turned up in a timeless little black dress, vintage fascinator and lace gloves, with Richard in a perfectly tailored suit to match.
Mimi and Richard were with us on a pre-wedding photoshoot prior to their location wedding in Hawaii at the end of the year. Many of their favourite luxury labels make an appearance somewhere in this shoot! Richard also brought along his Leica M9 to show us how it’s supposed to be done with a rangefinder camera and provided us with a bit of fun in-between shots…
There was an abundance of ambient light from all the fabulous shop windows, which gave us loads of creative joy. Also this shoot provided the perfect opportunity to give our newly acquired LED light (www.theicelight.com) a real workout. It really helped to create some fantastic scenes (in particular the rather steamy telephone box sequences!) which we just wouldn’t have been able to achieve with our usual off-camera flash setups.
And a big thank you to Peter Ngo (www.pangosworld.blogspot.co.uk) for assisting us during the photoshoot and helping to capture some alternative camera angles!
